Sustainable value chain all the way to the customer
Innovation Norway has decided to provide funding of up to 33.74 million Norwegian kroner to the project “Like Fresh at the Source – JustThaw800,” operated by Nye Icefresh AS. The funding consists of a grant of 20.34 million Norwegian kroner and a risk loan of 13.4 million Norwegian kroner. The goal is to transform the distribution of Norwegian fish globally through innovative thawing technology, shifting the transport of fish from air to sea.

Norway produces 37 million seafood meals every single day, providing the world with essential protein. We are in the midst of a green transition, and in the years ahead, Norwegian seafood must be produced using new methods and technology. The project in Raudbergvika by Storfjorden is the seafood company Hofseth’s answer to how this can be achieved.

The Norwegian Environment Agency revokes the decision of the Protected Area board for Geiranger-Herdalen
Nordplan applied on behalf of World Heritage Salmon on 20 October 2023 regarding a dispensation for interventions and activities that include digging, blasting, drilling, and building within the boundaries of the landscape protection area. The visible part of the facility (in Raudbergvika and Eidsdal) are outside of the landscape protection area.
Public meeting in Eidsdal
At the beginning of June, there was a public meeting in Eidsdal about the project in Raudbergvika. It was Tindrande Eidsdal, a popular annual festival in the village, which held the event.
